Console v1.15.0
| Component | Version |
|---|---|
| Backend and database migrations | v1.13.0 |
| UI | v1.14.0 |
| Helm chart | v0.5.4 |
Features
- Feedback: Create GitLab support issues from Console feedback.
- Platform Health: Test saved Prometheus queries and edit health-status rollup operations in the Django administration interface.
Changes
- Deployments: Generated templates use a configurable PostgreSQL mirror for the database and database-wait container. Automatic Iron Bank credential injection has been removed.
- Tools: AlertManager, Confluence, Kiali, and Prometheus are now hidden by default; enable them explicitly as described below.
Bug Fixes
- Profile: Avoid unnecessary role updates when saving profile changes, including profile pictures. Only submit role and team changes for organizations the current user can administer.
Security
- Update backend and UI dependencies with security fixes.
Upgrade Configuration
Feedback
The feedback menu requires both backend flags:
FEATURE_FEEDBACK_ENABLED="true"
FEATURE_GITLAB_SUPPORT_ISSUE_CREATION_ENABLED="true"
Also configure GITLAB_CONSOLE_SUPPORT_PROJECT_ID, GITLAB_BASE_URL, and GITLAB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN with access to create support issues. Enabling feedback alone no longer displays the menu.
Optional Tools
Set the applicable backend variables to display these tools if desired:
ENABLE_ALERTMANAGER="true"
ENABLE_CONFLUENCE="true"
ENABLE_KIALI="true"
ENABLE_PROMETHEUS="true"
Template PostgreSQL Mirror
The PostgreSQL image is currently mirrored in the smoothglue-manifest-template project registry. Override the repository path and tag below if needed; the registry host is derived from the generated GitLab repository.
TEMPLATE_POSTGRES_IMAGE_REPOSITORY="getting-started/templates/smoothglue-manifest-template/postgres"
TEMPLATE_POSTGRES_IMAGE_TAG="16.3.0"
The template credential settings REGISTRY1_DSO_MIL_SECRET_NAME, REGISTRY1_DSO_MIL_USERNAME_KEY, and REGISTRY1_DSO_MIL_PASSWORD_KEY have been removed. The Console chart's own PostgreSQL image is unchanged.
